Howdee everyone,

 

Important Updates:

SB135, 2015 Lead Law Changes

SB135 committee of conference results are in.  They kept the House version (the better version including many of our requested changes)& corrected the error referencing wrong statute mentioned previously in the eviction portion.

 

Related to the building permits, the version by the House was kept which simply has information passed out on lead programs and RRP when getting a building permit.

 

The study commission was also charged with looking into how building officials may help ensure contractors and property owners are informed about lead-safe and the RRP program.

 

The civil suit section originally coming from the Senate but dropped by the House was reinstated.  This kept some of our requests at the Senate hearing but drops all or our requests from the Senate hearing.  Disappointing.

(Anything can happen at a Committee of Conference).
